How does the sponsorship program work?
You can sponsor one of our children for a minimum of 12 months. With a monthly contribution of 50 US $, every child can benefit of 2 forms of sponsoring:
- A first sponsor contributes to the education of the child, as it allows him to go to a private school to get a quality education. For the handicapped‘s children this sum is used to finance their therapy and the medicines.
- The second one contributes to the daily expenses as the purchase of food, clothes, etc
As of now, you can also help us financially with a monthly contribution starting from 10 US $, without necessarily sponsoring a child in particular. Every little bit helps!
What is the sponsor’s commitment?
A concrete example of sponsoring: Laetitia, a former volunteer of la Casa Hogar Los Gorriones. After volunteering a first time in los Gorriones in 2008 for two months, Laetitia decided to sponsor Fermin, a 8-year-old autistic child with whom she developed a special bound.
Beyond the financial aspect, Laetitia receives photos as well as regular news of his godchild. For our sparrows, the godfather (sponsor) represents a family and a protective person. This symbolic value is very important for our children not having much connection with their family. To learn more about their story, click here!
A relation getting more interactive
With the idea to strengthen up the ties between the child and his sponsor, we started planning Skype calls, so they can communicate and share more directly!
